Blog #2 - Reinventing the State
Although the textbook refers to the period from 600 BCE to 600 CE as the Axial Age, many historians refer to that same period as the Classical Period. This term comes from the idea that many of the ideas that we used to today.
After reading the chapter from "Experiencing World History" about the classical age, answer the following questions:
1) What changed during the classical period from the previous period? What stayed the same/continued from the days of the first River Valley Civilizations?
2) What new ideas about government do we see created by the empires that arose?
3) Were the empires that were created by the Romans, Chinese and Indians good for the people that lived under them? Why or why not?
